What can I add to a car shade?
You can add a side wall to block slanting rain and low sun, your logo printed on the edge flap, a gutter with downpipe and rainwater tank, a solar charging system, and removal of an old shade before we install. Our team recommends the add-ons that suit your site at the survey.
Side walls
A fabric side wall on the windward or west-facing end keeps out slanting rain and the low afternoon sun.
Logo printing
Your brand printed on the edge flap along the front of the shade, ideal for offices, schools and car washes.
Gutters and rainwater tanks
A gutter and downpipe carry run-off to a drain or a tank, so you can reuse the water for washing and gardens.
Solar charging
Panels above the roof and a charging point for electric cars, e-bikes or your building.
Old shade removal
We strip and take away the existing shade and frame before installing the new one.
Repairs and re-covering
New covers for old frames, frame repairs and a tidy-up for tired shades.
Add-on questions
Can add-ons be fitted later?
Most can. Side walls, gutters and logo flaps can usually be added to an existing Tarpo shade. Solar needs a check of the frame first.
Which side should a side wall go on?
Usually the side facing the prevailing wind or the afternoon sun. In Nairobi that is often the west end. We confirm at the survey.
How big can a rainwater tank be?
It depends on the roof area and space at the end of the shade. Our team recommends a tank size that suits your roof.
Do you take away the old shade?
Yes. Removal of an old shade is available as an add-on, and we dispose of the old cover and frame.
